Don't Panic, Annika! is published by Piccadilly Press in the UK, Koala Books in Australia and De Vries Brouwers in The Netherlands (as Geen Paniek, Anniek!).

It's my first book to reach the shelves (but look out for more in 2012, including The Kite Princess, published by Barefoot Books).

I love picture books. I love reading them and I love writing them. And I love going to the library and sitting on the colourful carpet or squeezing into the squashy animal chairs with an armful of books picked off the shelves and getting stuck in. And then taking a whole pile home for us to reread once we get back -often on the sofa, on the floor, or in a den, sometimes in the garden or under the table but always always at bedtime, all snuggled up and cosy and sleepy.

I love the way that picture book stories are told through the pictures as well as the text. And it's very exciting to see one of my stories become one of our stories and take on a whole new life with someone else's illustrations. It's been a very exciting year...
